Capitol School of Austin is a
private, accredited, not-for-profit program for
children with average or above average learning potential who have speech, language, and learning differences.
Capitol School offers therapy-based, low-ratio, individualized school programs led by speech-language professionals or special educators as well as individual and small group therapy in our Evaluation & Therapy Clinic. Capitol School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Capitol School of Austin:
- Provides a quality program for children with speech, language, and learning differences without regard to social and economic boundaries;
- Hires exceptional, qualified staff;
- Improves and refines instructional design and delivery to ensure that all students can reach their full potential;
- Supports and serves as a resource for families with children who have language-based learning differences.
Input from the staff, administrators, parents, and community representatives provided the basis for a shared vision for student learning. This shared vision is stated in this vision statement and in terms of desired results for student learning and performance indicators.
Our vision drives the school’s direction and purpose as defined in our mission and beliefs.
The mission of Capitol School of Austin is to provide an enriched learning environment where children with speech, language, and learning differences can reach their full potential and develop skills necessary to succeed in future educational settings.
Capitol School of Austin is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is committed to a program of continuous improvement and quality assurance. These efforts are managed by our Campus Leadership Team, comprised of members of the Board of Directors, administrative staff, and classroom staff. Goals of the Campus Leadership Team are:
- To review and evaluate the effectiveness of our vision, mission, and beliefs.
- To involve stakeholders at every stage of the process as a way to provide organizational learning.
- To use input from our stakeholder groups to analyze the school’s strengths and challenges.
- To summarize those strengths and challenges and recommend paths for school improvement.
- To delineate annual improvement goals, allocate resources, and identify indicators of successful completion of those goals.
- To build teams and systems that will continue to follow-up on these goals.
